Violent Future - Demo

Year: 2012
Label: Painkiller Records

Tracks:

1. Goon Life
2. Government Takedown
3. Bloody Victims

4. Violent Future
5. Life Sucker
6. Fatal Reality

Originally released on a tape, this is Violent Future's material. This is tough, catchy mid-paced hardcore punk that evokes earlier Toronto bands like Bad Choice and Urban Blight. Good stuff. 201 copies of this were on solid red vinyl, and 305 of them were on black. The colour of the inserts corresponds to the vinyl.

VCR - Greatest Hits

Year: 2014
Label: Barfbag Records

Tracks:

1. Beer Shit Night/Pizza Party
2. Tooth Faced Motherfuckers
3. One Trick Dog

4. Fake Freaks (Fuck Off)
5. Bugs Bugs Bugs/Slap Your Mammy

VCR is a maniac synth driven psych punk band that has emerged from the bizarro younger punk scene in Toronto in the last few years. At this point in the game, the band has so many hits that it would hard to determine exactly what their "greatest hits" are, but this is an excellent 7" with very cool art. Mine is a record release edition limited to 30 copies, all on different coloured sleeves, but I'll post the regular edition as soon as I buy one. I believe a number of these are pressed on clear vinyl, while mine is on black. This is also the first record on Barfbag Records, which has replaced the former Labelled Records as the new Stuck In The City record label. Expect cool things.

Total Trash - S/T 7"

Year: 2012
Label: Deranged Records

Tracks:

1. Josef K.
2. Opiates

3. Hollow Eyes
4. The Last Man

This 7" was in the works for what seemed like years, and looking back on it, a book could probably be written about the mishaps that occurred during its conception. To say the least, the cover that was used was not what was intended for this record, and neither was the mix. There's nothing I can objectively write about this record except that some people dug it and others (namely MRR) hated it. It's a hardcore punk record made by a bunch of wannabe intellectual young punkers that were fresh out of high school. 400 copies if this bad boy were pressed. There were about 8 or 10 test presses, and you can see one here. 25 of those suckers had the Alexandre Kojeve record release sleeve, and another 20 or 30 or so had a tour sleeve that I'll post sometime soon.
