Teen Crud Combo - Suck It

Year: 2000
Label: Black Lung Records

Tracks:

1. Suck It
2. Beaver County (Pop: Nick)

3. Wash Dish
4. Awful Brothers Night

If Doge was turned into dude who was the singer of a punk band, that dude would be Nick Flanagan. Here is the earliest of Flanagan's pre-Brutal Knights shenanigans on wax, although this 7" doesn't even come with an insert or lyric sheet. The LP has all of these songs, plus other ones and lyrics so it's probably a better buy.

S.H.I.T. - Collective Unconsciousness

Year: 2014
Label: Iron Lung Records

Tracks:

1. Collective Unconsciousness
2. Masochism

3. Nobody Knows Anybody
4. The Stimulator

What can be said about S.H.I.T. in 2014 that hasn't already been said ? S.H.I.T. is a recent Toronto hardcore supergroup comprised of members of Violent Future, Molested Youth, Urban Blight, Purity Control, Owl Eyes, and Eating Glass. Greg, who plays guitar in S.H.I.T. is also responsible for Stuck In The City which puts on the majority of punk and hardcore shows in the city. Over the last two years, S.H.I.T. have been the most active hardcore band in Toronto, releasing 3 7"s in 2014 alone, and founding their own show space, S.H.I.B.G.B.'s. The tunes themselves are also ferocious, lightning fast suckers with those deliciously delayed vocals that sound like they're coming somewhere from outer space that we've all come to love. This is the 1st S.H.I.T. 7" and 1000 copies of this were initially pressed: 800 on black, 75 on purple, 125 on blue. A second pressing of this is on grey vinyl.

S.H.I.T. - Feeding Time

Year: 2014
Label: Static Shock Records

Tracks:

1. Feeding Time

2. Private Lies

This new single by Toronto's supergroup to end all supergroup's features an excellent rerecording of their unofficial anthem from the band's demo, as well as a ripping new track on the B-side. 200 copies of this were pressed on yellow vinyl and sold at some of the band's shows as well as for mail order.

Purity Control - Coping

Year: 2012
Label: High Anxiety Records, No Idea Records

Tracks:

1. Holy Hell
2. Walking Distance
3. Remote Viewing

4. Bedroom Eyes
5. Bite Marks
6. Separation Anxiety

The other Purity Control 7" released in 2012, after the band became more of a hardcore band and less of a powerviolence band. This is my less favourite amongst the two 7"s. Limited to 550 copies: 400 on black, and 150 on white. Obviously I got the one on white.

Purity Control - Adjusting

Year: 2012
Label: Self-Released

Tracks:

1. Dear Life
2. Insect Politics
3. Swallowing

4. Light Pollution
5. Mock Suicide
6. Gag Order

Here's the one of two 7"s Purity Control released in 2012, shortly before they broke up. Purity Control started off around 2009 as the lone powerviolence band in Toronto's USHC-ridden scene. Their first demo is still one of my favourite powerviolence demos ever, and their second demo is equally impressive. Following the first two demos, the band changed the lineup pretty significantly, and became more of a hardcore band as opposed to doing more straight forward powerviolence. The band's two 7"s reflect this later sound and were disappointing to those who were into the band's earlier sound more. This is still a solid 7" though, and is limited to 313 copies, with another test press version limited to 45 and sold at the record release show (pictured on the right).
