Cool comp featuring more or less the entirety of the Toronto and Montreal hardcore scenes at the time. The comp was released at a transitional period in TOHC and half the bands on the comp had broken up by the time it was released. Still, great stuff. I believe this was limited to 500 copies.

Youth Youth Youth - Sin EP
Year: 1983
Label: Fringe Product
Tracks:
1. Philosophy
2. Greed
3. Fire In The Rain
4. Wanderlust
5. White Reggae
6. Sinistre
7. Headline Hunters
Arguably the best TOHC record put out in the '80s, as well as one of the oldest. Don't know the pressing info but copies of this now go for a pretty penny. I think this record is more sought after than it is rare though. Cool shit.

Young Lions - Bonus 7"
Year: 2009
Label: Schizophrenic Records
Tracks:
1. Freedom Fighter
2. Pray For Julie
This is the bonus 7" that came with Schizophrenic's excellent release of Young Lion's unreleased material. Like the LP, the mixes are a bit off, but the songs shred, and the packaging is remarkable. 100 of these are on coloured vinyl and come with an obi strip and a sticker.

Label: Schizophrenic Records
Tracks:
1. United
2. Young Amerikkka
3. National Security
4. We Wanna Riot
5. Shithole
6. Rick Kid
7. Guns And Children

9. One Brick At A Time
10. Goodnight Belfast
11. Bloodless
12. Defy The State
13. Made In England (YYY cover)
14. Royal Killers
Trust the fine folks at Schizophrenic Records to make the coolest and most painstakingly diehard "diehard edition" of any record. This brilliant release features 100 LPs with 14 lost tracks on gorgeous coloured wax, another 3 on a bonus 7", a Young Lions sticker, magnet, zine, silkscreened art, and an extra screened and hand-numbered alternate cover. Jesus. The mixes on the record aren't too great, but the Young Lions' great songs make up for this, paving a fine bridge between '77 punk and early hardcore. Awesome release, awesome packaging.

Label: My War Records, Deranged Records
Tracks:
1. Know It All
2. Bloodsucker
3. Death Bed
4. I Don't Care
5. Fatal Blow
6. Go To War
7. Drop Out
8. Violent Minds
Violent Minds' first record and tone of their two (the other being Riot) as a Toronto hardcore band. Cool band, cool 7". Deranged repressed this in 2007 on black and pink vinyl and I think there's a limited blue variant of the first press.

Year: 2004
Label: Parts Unknown Records
Tracks:
1. Riot
2. Search And Destroy
3. D.N.Y.R.
Awesome, awesome 7" by Violent Minds. I'm pretty sure that this is their last record as a Toronto-based band. It is good.

Label: Deranged Records
Tracks:
1. No Heart
2. Another Day
3. Gone For Good
4. Just Kicked In
This 7" features Violent Minds after they were a Toronto-based band. Still a decent 7", although the artwork is pretty awful.

Never Healed/Violent Minds - Armoury Of Fearless Truth Against Whispering Rumour
Year: 2006
Label: Spiderghost Press Gang, Vexed Records
Tracks:
1. Never Healed - The March
2. Never Healed - War All The Time
3. Violent Minds - Take The Money (And Run)
4. Violent Minds - Silent Panic
Technically, by the time this record came out, Violent Minds were no longer a Toronto-based band. The group photo on the back is also stupid and goofy looking. Regardless, some pretty excellent hardcore on both sides.

Total Trash/Mighty Atom split
Year: 2011
Label: A Mountain Far, Buzz Records
Tracks:
1. Total Trash - Freedom
2. Total Trash - No Freedom
3. Mighty Atom - Words
4. Mighty Atom - Stratification
5. Mighty Atom - Hollow Eyes
Split between Total Trash and noisy K/W punks, Mighty Atom, put out on two local labels. Can't really say anything about this objectively except that it's a considerably weird release for Buzz, A Mountain Far, and Total Trash. The record is limited to 300 copies on marble vinyl with 20 alternate covers whose pictures will be posted soon. There's also 4 test presses.http://amountainfar.bandcamp.com/album/mighty-atom-total-trash

Urban Blight - S/T
Year: 2005
Label: Deranged Records
Tracks:
1. Urban Blight
2. Not Like You
3. Slow Death
This record definitely showcases Urban Blight at an earlier, more primitive stage of the band. This being said, their mosh inducing riffs still remain intact. Slow Death is kind of a funny song considering how militantly straight edge its lyrics are and the fact that the band is no longer entirely straight edge.

The most recent Urban Blight release, featuring some excellent new tracks. Limited to 155 first pressings on red vinyl and another 384 on black, second press of 338 on black vinyl and a third pressing of 235 on white vinyl.
The sleeve is also a gnarly foldout poster.

Urban Blight - More Reality
Year: 2009, 2010
Label: Slasher Records
Tracks:
1. Toxic City
2. More Reality
3. Cut Back
4. No Direction
5. Fake Attitudes
6. Blight Makes Right
7. Get A Clue
8. Enough
9. Leech
10. What Can Be Done
Undoubtedly, one the the greatest Toronto hardcore records of all time. Urban Blight plays old school hardcore influenced by early Boston and NYHC done right. Every track on this record is an absolute ripper, and the first pressing came with a super cool hip-hop maxi influenced sleeve limited to 525 copies on black vinyl and 100 copies on gold vinyl (pictured here) for the record release edition of the record. Slasher also did a Euro pressing of this record with different art, and on clear blue vinyl with silver labels limited to 300. I believe 20 tests presses exist from the first pressing of this record.

Terminal State - Your Rules
Year: 2005
Label: Deranged Records
Tracks:
1. I'm Terminal
2. Your Rules
3. Fuck You Sid
4. Four Walls
5. All In My Head
6. Drop Out
7. Looking In The Mirror
8. Bend In Pain
This record is a masterpiece. Everything on Your Rules from the front cover to all of the art, to the songs show the mastering of the suburban hardcore aesthetic. Although this record came out in '05, it could have easily come out of Orange County in like 1981. Definitely one of my favourite Toronto records ever. Your Rules also includes rerecorded versions of my favourite Terminal State songs, Your Rules and Four Walls which were originally on the demo. Fucking rad.
The insert features flyer art for shows I can only dream of having gone to.
The test press of this record is limited to 5 copies and can be seen here.

Terminal State - Sick
Year: 2007
Label: Deranged Records
Tracks:
1. Sick
2. Disease
3. Wake Up
This was Terminal State's last record, put out shortly before Ivan and Ben went on to form School Jerks. This 7" totally rules. Perfectly executed snotty hardcore
which sounds just a bit more refined than their earlier stuff. There are two alternate sleeves for this 7", the yellow tour sleeve pictured, and another alternate cover both which housed the white vinyl variant and were limited to 150 copies.

Terminal State - Panic Attack
Year: 2005
Label: Hate The 80's Records
Tracks:
1. Panic Attack
2. Bloodstains Across...Your Face
3. Hit Me
4. Rats
Arguably the weakest of Terminal State's four records, but still not too bad. Not sure how many of these were pressed but there's a clear vinyl variant and I've heard of clear variants with red and purple swirls and a black swirled variant limited to 15?

Year: 2004
Label: Hate The 80's Records
Tracks:
1. Your Rules
2. Four Walls
3. I'm A Slob
4. Punxploitation
5. I'm Through
Although sounding like Black Flag is a description that gets thrown around very generously, Terminal State very much sounds like pre-Damaged Black Flag. This is the excellent demo by one of Toronto's most underrated bands that was pressed onto 225 7"s with plain gold dust sleeves. The test press of this record is limited to 22 copies and actually features more elaborate art than the record itself.
