A lot of punx often talk about staying punk until they die. While this demonstrates an admirable commitment to punk, a listen through any of the Class Assassins records might be a reminder of why you should drop out of punk after you’re 35. Class Assassins is a group composed of members of most of Toronto’s best bands from the 80’s and 90’s including Hockey Teeth, Chronic Submission, Direct Action, and Hamilton’s Problem Children. Regrettably however, none of the best features of these bands are represented in this music. This is boring “street punk” with run-of-the-mill working class lyrics, pop punkey songwriting, and a whole lot to yawn about.
